    Thanks for the different lifts. The situation I have is my gym offers NO free wts….xcept for dumb bells, seated bench machine, cable pull machine, and lat machine. I’ve tried to take what you’ve shown and simply convert it to what I have avalible. You see the place where my wife works offers this facility for free. It also house many cardio machines as well. I would like to see more lifts that use machines for those who have none to use.

    Basically I want to lose 2 stone but am really stuck on what food to eat as I am a very fussy eater.
    I am doing another 10 k run next May and am also aiming to complete it in under an hour so would like any tips you have on improving the pace of my running also.

    Hi Darin!

    I am in my mid sixties, have worked out since my early twenties, and have been stuck with the same jogging routine for the past several years. I jog at about 4.6-4.8 over a period of 45 minutes on a treadmill, jumping off to do two 5 minute rope jumping intervals, and one 5 minute walk-fit interval on an old walk fit machine with poles. I do this 3 times a week, and on alternate days do crunches and wait training with ten pound weights (mostly arm excercises). I am stuck at 148 lbs. and I am 5’7″ tall. I want to lose 10 lbs. My abdomen is flat, but I have a little fat on either side of my waist and hate it.

    I have tried to adopt your interval workout for the past week, and have a few questions about tweeking it for me. I have back issues, and can’t run on an incline. Tried doing it on no incline and progress up to 5.8 speed in 7-8 challenges. Does this sound correct? Also, don’t want to lose ability to jump rope, so I do that separately on alternate weight-training days. Is that all right?
