I have a Question for YOU!
Finally, I have a question for you… if you
could have a private conversation with me, what
two questions would you like to ask
me? What are the two biggest obstacle you face
when it comes to reaching your true potential in
fitness & fatloss.
Send me your questions on this blog as comments below!
That’s all for now, look for new videos from
me very soon…

P.S.- Please send me your questions – what two
questions would you like to ask me? What do you
need help with? I won’t always be able to answer
individually… but I will try to answer most of them in
a future videos.

Well I can honestly say most of my questions that I’ve had for 27 years were answered when I read “The Body Fat Solution” by Tom Venuto and since you and him have been in a gym more in last 36 days than I’ve been in last 36 years I got ton of questions for you …I’ve only been with my trainer twice and still got alot to learn. I guess my first question would be how do I put into practice my goals and workout schedule and make it a habit very quickly without allowing snowstorms or no time to stop me ? How do I make it part of me since its so foreign to my way of doing things my body and evrything is very quick to reject it and over look it ? Im NOT making excuses I’ve been giant my whole life and NEED to lose atleast 100pounds and am at 41% body fat and Im eating better than ever and lost 4 pounds my first 10 days BUT I get so busy and not used to it so I let my time to workout pass me by ….
HI Michael,
Great question. This is a mind game question. You have to look at this as a life or death situation. If not a physical death (which is def possible at 40% bodyfat or higher) a mental or an emotional death. Meaning that one might give up being happy or living a fun, great life. You have to say that “You Have Had Enough”. You got to get pissed off!! You deserve more out of life. You deserve a great life. Some people do great after they have a health scare, like a heart attach, or a stroke. So maybe you can scare yourself straight before you actually have a health scare. You can do this Michael. You deserve more. I promise you that my system will simplify the process for you.
You deserve a great life!!
Your Coach,
darin
Hey Steen,
1.This is a random one! How do i get rid of the huge amount of fat on my upper back? My exercises help me lose weight everywhere else except my upper back side. I hope you can help.
2. Due to more fat on the upper back, i think it’s possible my back is bent even maybe to the bone. I’m not sure. What can i do to improve my posture even though the weight is more on my back.
Thanks, and will be looking forward to a “good” reply!
Darin, I am a member of FatLoss Lifestyle. My two questions are…
1. I have lost weight many times (4 times losing over 100 lbs.) but have put it all back on and more. How can I maintain it this time?
2. If I can’t totally eliminate the stress in my life can I be successful in this quest?
Hi Darin,
You said two questions….
I’m allready busy optimizing my nutrition for my fitness goals, also doing great with a FULLBODY workout (1 hour max in the gym)three times a week and two times a week spending time with abs-workout (max 15 minutes).
Questions:
1. What else can I do in order to stick to my
nutrition the whole year,
2. Getting and maintaining a LEAN BODY the
whole year.
Hoping to hear soon from you and friendly regards,
Ottmar.
As you asked here are 2 things I would like to say:
1. I struggle at this point in my life for real support for helping me in losing body fat.
Support like having a close friend to help motivate me. Most folks I know live a distance away. I have one close friend in the area, but he is married w/children and is 72. Now, he is in good health and gets around fine; but doesn’t really have the time to help motivate me daily to get out there and EXERCISE.
2. I struggle w/living in an area w/no real close friends to do things with. Finding a male friend who is a believe around my age who could be supportive. I had a close friend for 8yrs. He met a woman last year, moved in w/her(I disapproved of this before marriage) and is getting married this year. I had been there day after day, wk after wk, month after month for 8 yrs. I helped move him 3 times, and he is in contact w/his parents, and 2 sisters because I reached out to them for him.
What amazes me is just how unkind anyone could be in this situation to have shut me off from almost 8 and a half year friendship. And this woman he met simply didn’t want to meet anyone he knew(which were only a few people) and I had to bump into he and her by accident while shopping at Boscov’s.
If it wasn’t for Time, Jesus Christ and His Word it would be much more difficult.
hi i have the two questions, whats your best tactic to break a plateau while gaining muscle mass and do you eat carbs for your last meal while gaining mass? Im already lean and just trying to gain a little mass before i go back to fat loss stage right in time for spring, since im at 9 – 10% body fat now and 158 pounds at 5’10.

Hi Daren,
tx for all you motivating arctliles you sent me thus far, it reall has helped me alot.
Im not really overweight but just trying to overcome those last few pounds.
I’ve read some articles about changing ones beliefs and installing or reprogramming your mind if you will, as well as to change one’s asscoction with food, thats whats motivating my question below.
1: How does one overcome bad eating habits?
2: How does one get rid bloatedness in the face as well as the rest of ones body?
nomatter how hard i workout..my muscles just wont grow!!Help!!
Why obstacles, rather challenges. The reason we are enable acheive our goals is that we haven’t found the solutions yet, or there is a situation that is keeping us from getting there “for the time being”, but there is a way of getting there with some other approach.
Okay, now that I you heard my rant. My question. For many curious and complicated reasons there is really one regular time of the day that I can do my routine, though . . . you wanna know the truth? Some mornings, well, you know what happens, but I get to it after breakfast.
Other than that foible, there are some financial issues that prevent me from getting some supplements, namely one, C-Q10 . For the time being I am trying the Chinese approach to exercise. In the past my wife and I did Chi Kong, and later Tai Chi. Even if my body doesn’t produce “enough” of that substance perhaps the balance that this tack provides might get my circulation to improve.
Granted I have lost some weight, slowly but surely. I don’t obsess, but the last time I weighed myself the scale read 106 kg in stocking feet. My goals in are modest–when I get to 100, then my goal is 90, after that somewhere between 70-75
It may take a while, but as long as my situation is what it is, I find the Chi Kong user friendly and mix it with Western approaches. This is the question–what is your take on Chi Kung and, if possibly Tai Chi. It takes “the thoughts that you think”, even when you are told not think about anything at all. It’s working for me to some extent in spite of the unavoidable pains in the knee. Even as I lose weight, I know it will be “less painful”. The only hope of keeping what cartilage there is strong legs, and perhaps a balance of the elements in my body as the Chinese prescribe.
The second question is relative to raw vs cooked food, animal sources of protein vs vegetable sources. Lately I have concentrated on vegetable sources with a tad of animal stuff, like canned salmon, or cottage cheese and yoghurt. There has been a breast of broiled chicken, or fish from time to time, but . . . fresh and mostly uncooked, except for oatmeal that I fortify with ground walnuts and shelled sunflower seeds, and oat bran.
As well, what about beef and liver?
Those are my issues. Have a feeling other people may have a similar situation.

1, Food addictions…i.e sugars etc
How to get them out, what to replace them with etc
2, How to know if goals are realistic…I am 52 and an optimist, but sometimes my goal settings are high…
Thanks Darin
I recently started using the Deadlift on my back days, I’ve never done this exercise before but from what i’ve learnt it is the best back developer there is. Here’s the problem, when i squat its like i dont recover enough to be able to perform my Deadlift on consecutive days. I’ve a three day split shoulders/Arms, Chest/Back then Legs. This effects me whether I volume/strength train. Which variation of the Deadlift should I try to minimise middle back trauma?
Also I’ve had my partner monitor my form which he says is perfect.I know this is a more bodybuilding style question but i thought who better to ask.
Thanks Darin.

HI Darin,
1. How do I get rid of fat at outer hip area? I am already very lean and can’t rid myself of it….
2. I know you recommended 365 Whey protein which I tried and LOVED. It’s the only whey protein so far my body can tolerate. Any other brands you can suggest? What about egg protein?
Thank you Darin, you rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you think it would be possible for a 47 year old female to enter some sort of body building contest?
Hi Darin,
I struggle mostly with winter weight gain due to less outdoor activity and more baking/holiday cooking. I do not have access to a gym, have no aerobic equipment and no stairs to use. So I need help on how to keep the calories down and the activity up!
Also how to keep from evening binging due to being on the road during the day and coming home in the evening and grabbing the easiest thing to eat due to being so hungry and out of habit. I get away with it in the warm months as I am very active then.
Thanks!
Debra
1.How to get rid of belly fat and put muscle mass simultaneously.
2.Can you give the ideal routine for the exercise and diet plan for the above problem
I’m 5’8″ and weigh 240lbs and want to be 200lbs. What should my calorie, protein, carb and fat intake should be? Secondly, when working out, should you take every set to failure or stop a couple of reps shy?
Hi Darin, (Q&A’s a great idea – thanks!! )
2 obstacles, 1 external, 1 internal
I’m married to a person who goes on diets every New Year, and some other times, but then shows up with pies, cakes, & is hurt if the family doesn’t eat them.
For exercising, I have the attention span of a two year old. Think it’s a great idea, do it sometimes, but am bored after 5 minutes or less. Also I’m under the illusion I’m busy. In reality I have the same 24 hours on my clock that everybody else has.
Any suggestions for either?
Thank s,
Jim
I am 66 yrs old and I have lost 27 lbs. I want to lose down to 165 . I would like to know how to lose that last 5 lbs with losing that all the fat around my

Hi Darin!
I don’t have a running machine or stationary bike and I don’t have the surroundings to allow me to do the walk/jog/sprint exercises – Do you have any suggestions? I’m having a hard time trusting that I’ll see results because of not having the correct equipment. I’m trying to recover from having disordered eating patterns – I guess I’m worried about putting all that effort into focussing on food (I battle with that every day as it is) and training, only to find that I haven’t acheived any kind of dramatic result.
Thanks x
P.S. I’m 5’6 and weigh approximately 137 pounds
I’m in “more than desperate” financial straits… my home is in foreclosure; I’ve stopped paying on my credit cards, but “burn the fat” is still withdrawing $9.95/month from my debit card.
If your company is still billing me $9.95/month, PLEASE cancel my “membership” and stop taking my money, OK? Thank you, very much!
I would like to first say how am i able to get the fastes rezaltes when it comes to working out. i would work out and i will not see really anything at all i need some diet tips. and second i dont really have the money now to go to the gym so i do things at home with two dumbels and i wanted to know how can i build my upper and lower body with two dumbels and how can i get abbs fast!!!!!
1. Just how much exercise do you really need each in order for your mucles to grow. How many exercises for each mucle group and how many sets.
2. How much muscle can a person put on in a year with the proper nutrition and workout plan.
Hey Darin:
Love your email letters.
My questions are : Every time I find an eating plan that takes off weight, I take off about 10-15 pounds, but then that’s about all I manage to lose. How do I keep the momentum going for the last 10? It seems my body gets used to the plan and locks in on the new weight. And number 2: am I doomed to forever have a fat stomach? Nothing seems to ever come off that area.
I am a physician who tries to motivate my patients and their families to adopt healthy life choices.
One of the most difficult challenges is how to get people who have a life-long history of obesity and deconditioning to exercise?
There is a paucity of information on what are safe and effective exercises for the truly obese.
Calorie restriction is easy. It’s the exercise that’s hard.
Any thoughts?
Just want to say thanks right now. You have a great attitude and the love of what you’re doing shines thru.
Health and strength to you,
N. Brazil
p.s. Great cameraman(gal) you have there.
1- When one is in a real hurry 15 minutes between work and going to a meeting etxc for an extended period of time what are some good meal suggestions
( I learned the hard way peanut butter sandwiches are not the best choice)
2-How do you avoid emotional eating when all about you is a swirl of chaos
Darin,
My main question would be, since my car accident over 22 years ago, I have severe arthritis in my knees, ankles and hips, and am unable to do a lot of the cardio that is required due to impact on my joints. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks! By the way, I’m so very proud of you!!!
I think I have just one area I would like some focused help with …
Due to a ruptured appendix as a child I have a deforming scar on my tummy that is a major emotional discomfort to me because it causes a poochy, deformed shape; I also have had three children, so my tummy has been through a lot! I can feel the hardening muscle in there, but just cannot get the last 2 handfuls of fat to go away! And, I’d like to be able to get the fat deposited around the scar area to go away! Help!? Surgery? Or persistence!?
