How Can I Get Rid of Love Handles, Belly Fat, & My Beer Belly
I’ve tried dieting and exercising, and I’ve lost a fair amount of weight, but I can’t seem to get rid of those stubborn love handles no matter how hard I try. How can I finally get rid of them once and for all?
You must have a balanced fitness program that
includes:
2 or 3 one hour weight training work outs per week 2 or 3 45 minute Interval Cardio Sessions per week A simple nutrition plan Specific goal setting, and retest methods Posititve thinking with visualization Proper Social SupportWhat I see often as a full-time trainer / healthy lifestyle coach is that most people are trying very hard with a bad plan. They “try” for 2-3 weeks with no real “plan of action”. They see no results, and stop working out.
When your body changes, and your clothes fit better you naturally will want to continutue with your fitness plan.
Most people do extreme things that are not mainainable long term
A lot of people are so out of balance with their extreme approach (ala Biggest Loser 24-7 approach) to losing fat or losing their love handles that they crash and burn. They go back to their old habits because the think that exercise and healthy nutrition do not work.
When most “dieters” lose weight by using these extreme methods they almost always lose muscle, throw their internal environment (blood chemistry, hormones, and enzymes) into a stressed state. And if they do lose weight with this out of balance approach end up feeling tired, grouchy, lethargic, and un happy. If they start out with a big pear shaped body, they end up simply being a smaller pear shape.
Not my idea of fun.
Exercise does build muscle and burn body fat!
The simpler plan the better.

Like your post. I couldn’t agree more with you regarding you must exercise to build lean muscle tissue & burn fat and how a lot of people have that mindset that they have to do long slow cardio. I am a big fan of interval training and circuit training. I’ve had great success for myself and my clients. Thanks for the post
Despite my regular workouts, which include some ab exercises, I have not been able to flatten my ab. My belly is still bulging out. What shall I do?
Hi Hussain,
Your work outs could always improve in quality. Meaning not more weight but more focus on the target muscle. Go to absolute failure in the 15 rep range on your first set, to 12 reps on your second set. But the #1 thing that will help you with your abs is to learn how to eat. If you want to learn how to be more effective with your exercise, your nutrition, and your mindset; you should consider my monthly on-line support. It is only $19.97 per month and would drastically help you stay on track. Here is the information on it; http://www.fatlosslifestyle.com/fitness-training-services/fat-loss-lifestyle-support-forum/
Thanks a lot Ryan,
It is good to hear from another professional that knows that effective work outs must be short, intense, and interval style 70-90% of the time.
